Short summary After the French Revolution and subsequent wars with Napoleonic France, Russia developed a group of republic-minded thinkers and so called terrorists. They demand change through revolution, hence beginning a history in Tsar controlled Russia. In December 1825, the so called Decembrists organized a revolt that was destined to fail, and many members were exiled to Siberia. However, this event is remembered in Russian memory and jolted the rule of Nicholas I, who took the throne after the death of Alexander I.
