He was a pioneering Swiss mathematician and physicist. He made important discoveries in fields as diverse as infinitesimal calculus and graph theory. He invented the imaginary number i, the concept of exponential series (e^x), and the Euler Identity. His father is a friend of the Bernoulli family.
